3 simple measurements needed to start your stairs project:
01 Measure Rise
Measure your total rise. This is from finished floor to finished floor (E.G. from concrete to 3/4″ wood flooring). This is a vertical measurement.
02 Measure Width
Measure the width of the stair opening. Don’t forget when ordering your stairs you leave room for sheetrock or any other wall covering you may be installing.
When ordering your stairs, the width that is entered should be what you want the stairs to be from Outside of Stringer to Outside of Stringer.
03 Measure Floor Opening
Measure the full length of your floor opening.
This will you determine if you have enough room for your staircase as designed.
